A wild boar charged into a family's house in Kerala, India, reaching the room where a two-year-old was playing, Onmanorama reported.
Her uncle intervened at the last moment, preventing the encounter from becoming deadly.

Onmanorama reported that the child, Ruha, was sitting on a bed while her mother, Shahla, and other relatives were in the kitchen, with the front door open.
Fawas Kalladithodi, the child's father, described how the situation unfolded.
"Suddenly, the wild boar jumped over the compound wall and ran straight into our house," he recounted to the outlet. "It first entered the kitchen. When it saw my wife and mother, it got frightened, turned around, and rushed into the adjacent bedroom where our daughter was playing."

As relatives screamed, Kalladithodi's uncle Hakeem rushed in, lifted the toddler from the bed and closed the bedroom door, leaving the boar trapped inside. Onmanorama said the animal wrecked the room, damaging furniture and repeatedly slamming into the window grill.
A trained shooter team arrived about 30 minutes later and killed the boar, per the publication.

Ward councillor Shamsiya of Thadathilparamba told Onmanorama that wild boar incursions have become common in the area. Residents said the animals are showing up around homes and roads, not just in forested areas.
They also said a vast stretch of nearby vacant land has become a breeding ground for wild boars, according to the outlet. As the BBC has reported, altered habitats and expanding human activity can increase the odds of dangerous human-wildlife encounters.
Onmanorama reported a man in a neighboring house was injured after a wild boar struck his motorcycle in early August.
What's being done?
The local government is taking steps to deal with the wild boar problem.
"Just a week ago, the municipality had decided to launch a special operation to cull wild boars in the area," Shamsiya told Onmanorama. "However, the programme had to be postponed because of heavy rain. Following this incident, the operation will be carried out at the earliest."
