A recall involving Walmart's exclusive Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter is prompting shoppers in 19 states to check their pantry shelves after Florida testing raised possible salmonella concerns.
What happened?
The recall applies to one specific batch of Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter sold only at Walmart, according to the company's announcement posted on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.
New York-based Botticelli Foods said the affected product is lot LB028ACP04, packaged in 6.7-ounce glass jars with UPC 194346207961 and a Jan. 28, 2027 expiration date.
Walmart stores in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, and Wyoming received the product.
The FDA said the recall was prompted by routine testing that "identified the presence of salmonella." Walmart was notified on July 17, 2026, after the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services detected salmonella in three jars during a routine inventory inspection at a Florida Walmart.
No illnesses have been reported, but the recall notice advises consumers not to eat the product if they have it at home.
