On his YouTube channel, Greg explained that Hyundai was "not trying to reinvent the car," and that's what makes the Kona EV so special. It eliminates the potential for confusion with real door handles and physical dials for comforts such as climate control, heated seats, and drive modes.
"Actual door handles that you pull to open a door. How awesome is that — that you can still buy a car that has proper door handles?" Greg said.
The Kona EV has 201 horsepower, a 64.8 kilowatt-hour battery pack, and 261 miles of range. DC fast-charging can take it from 10% to 80% in roughly 40 minutes. It's also equipped for cold weather with a standard heat pump as well as easy-to-access battery conditioning controls and a heated front charge port.

EVs offer lower fuel costs and less routine maintenance than gas vehicles thanks to fewer moving parts and no oil changes, but complaints about overly complicated features are not limited to EV skeptics. Many people want modern technology but do not want to be inhibited when they open a door, adjust the temperature in the cabin, or change a seat setting.
