Neglected rescue dog's smile grows bigger in every photo after a year with her new family

That's the effect of Willa's update in the r/BeforeNAfterAdoption subreddit. Her family shared photos from a year together, showing the rescue dog change from looking neglected and in pain to appearing healthy, with a bigger smile in each picture.

After adoption, Willa was treated for eyelid entropion, her owner explained. In that condition, the eyelid rolls inward and can cause significant irritation and pain, according to VCA Animal Hospitals. Addressing it helped explain the dramatic difference visible in the photos.

"OMG that hurt to see so much my eyes watered up, and I got a lump in my throat," one commenter wrote. "She looks so radiant and healthy and blissfully happy now."
