In Greece, horses were seen bolting away from encroaching flames as a wildfire burned through homes and landscapes northwest of Athens.

What happened?
CNN shared a video showing horses running from the fire in western Attica. It described the scene as "horses fleeing flames northwest of Athens as a fast-moving wildfire destroys homes, scorches farmland, and challenges firefighting crews."
Across western Attica, the wildfire has now burned through vast areas and destroyed more than 100 homes, per CNN. The scene horrified viewers, who expressed their sympathies for the residents as well as the horses.
"I had to look it up and found out the horses did escape!" one commenter wrote.
"Animals don't start these fires, yet they suffer the most," another added.
