For example, a University of California, Berkeley, professor placed 57 sensors in the San Francisco Bay Area to monitor the reduction of toxic gases as EV adoption grew between 2018 and 2022. The study found that polluting gases were reduced by 1.8% every year.
While that number may not seem high, imagine how much that number can grow as more people switch to EVs.
