The storm was drawing to a close when the rescue occurred.
What's being done?
"We were on scene two minutes after launch and one of our crewmembers went ashore to carry out a casualty care assessment," a Kinghorn RNLI social media post said of the response, per STV News.
An ambulance crew was waiting nearby to attend to the man.
Rescuers brought him to the crew along the rocks after placing him on a stretcher.
"The casualty was near the water's edge with an incoming flood tide," the post explained.
"The casualty was initially moved higher up the rocks, away from the water," Kinghorn RNLI added.
