A late-night drive in Pattaya, Thailand, took a frightening turn when people in a pickup truck found a snake about 13 feet long hiding inside the vehicle, according to Pattaya Mail.
Rather than risk handling the snake themselves, they called firefighters to remove it safely.
Here's what to know
Pattaya Mail reported that the call came in at about 10:04 p.m. on Aug. 8 in Soi Wat Boon 3. After receiving the report, Pattaya City Fire Station's Jomtien unit sent Inspection Vehicle 410 and a wildlife response team.
Firefighters searched the vehicle and removed the reptile. Snakes often look for warm, enclosed places during the rainy season, so they may turn up more often in vehicles and other appealing human developments.
Residents were advised not to go near large snakes or try to catch them themselves, Pattaya Mail reported.
Anyone who finds a snake in a vehicle, home, or business in the area should call Pattaya City emergency services at 1337 or the Jomtien Fire Station at 095-146-4221.
