A dog is recovering after firefighters rescued him from a manhole in North Carolina, bringing the injured animal to safety within 30 minutes of arriving.
Here's what to know
A dog trapped in a manhole was the subject of an Oct. 16 call that sent Kernersville Fire Rescue to Crossview Drive, according to WFMY.
Engine 43 firefighters confirmed that the animal, named Finn, was trapped there. They arrived on the scene and began the rescue after confirming his location.
First, however, firefighters completed air testing as a confined-space safety precaution before trying to bring Finn out of the hole.
Personnel from Rescue 42 and Engine 42 handled equipment preparation and joined the effort to bring the trapped animal out safely.
