A content creator named Julio (@JulioGoesElectric) said his switch from a 2025 Bronco Raptor to a 2027 Tesla Model Y Premium RWD took just seven days from order to delivery — and only seven more to reveal one early annoyance: windshield chips.
Here's what to know
In a YouTube review, he described the transaction as easy from start to finish, saying, "The purchase process was extremely simple," while "the delivery process was also super fast."
The delivery timeline was unusually short. Julio said he placed the order on October 3 and got the vehicle on October 10 after trading in his Bronco, and a Tesla representative later told him the fast turnaround likely happened because another buyer had ordered the same configuration and backed out at the last minute.
He said it is still too early to draw firm conclusions about operating costs. Because he works from home and does not drive much, Julio said the savings are harder to notice so far, though two unusual one-hour trips likely would have meant buying gas in the Bronco, while the Model Y was showing roughly 355 miles of range.
So far, his biggest complaint centers on the glass. "Unfortunately, I already got two chips in the windshield," Julio said. One commenter also pointed to a tradeoff on longer drives, writing, "First road trip you will be surprised how much it costs to fill up at a Supercharger. It's 3 times the cost of charging at home, but still less than gasoline."
More background
Letting go of the Bronco Raptor wasn't easy for him. Julio said he loved how it looked and enjoyed the attention it attracted in public, but the Tesla seems to have won him over quickly for day-to-day comfort and convenience.
Compared with the Bronco, he said the Model Y feels "super smooth" on ordinary roads. His main ride complaint is that potholes and rough pavement are more noticeable than he expected, which is a tradeoff for drivers moving from a truck or SUV to a lower electric crossover.
Among the interior features, the white cabin stood out most to him. Julio said it draws frequent comments and has remained cleaner than some people might expect after a week of use. He also praised the highly responsive touchscreen and said the wireless chargers "work so good," especially compared with chargers in earlier vehicles that he found nearly useless.
He also highlighted several practical, family-friendly features, including heated rear seats for his kids, strong premium audio, ample cargo room with the seats up or folded down, and a front trunk with a drain plug he hopes to use like a cooler.
What can be done?
Julio said he pays $17 a month for windshield protection because road debris is a recurring problem where he lives. After noticing multiple chips during his first week, he already felt the added coverage was worth it.
He also said Tesla's tech-focused setup shouldn't feel intimidating. In his view, owners can handle a few basic settings on the first day and start driving right away, while tinkerers can spend more time customizing features such as lighting, screens, and entertainment.
His verdict on the switch was direct: "To get to the point, I absolutely love it."
