Others pointed out that the cost of wood totaled less than $50, while the brackets, casters, weather-resistant screws, and other hardware accounted for the rest.
As a result, they recommended saving money by using scrap steel, used casters, fixed-angle brackets, and even skids in place of wheels.
However, all of those recommendations involved significant trade-offs. Some options would save money but increase labor time, reduce mobility, and limit performance.
For example, the OP commented that using salvaged steel "would greatly increase the build time," even if it did lower the overall cost of materials.
