After repeated attacks by other cats left him with battered ears and scars, a street cat in Ukraine is finally getting a safe place to rest.
The three-year-old cat, Simon, is staying with rescuers in Vinnytsia, where they say he can sleep without having to protect his space.
Here's what to know
Simon is being cared for at Khvostyky, a rescue cat café in Vinnytsia, according to a Reddit post shared by his rescuers.
"It took almost a whole courtyard of people working together to get this boy off the street," the original poster wrote. "Catching him was anything but easy."
Rescuers attribute Simon's badly damaged ears and body scars to attacks by other cats in the backyard where he lived. They say those cats regularly chased him, biting and scratching him.

More background
A separate wound caused by an abscess has healed, his rescuers reported. The abscess developed during Simon's time outdoors and caused bleeding when it ruptured.
Whether Simon can hear well is still uncertain. According to the original poster, Simon still needs further examination and has not received a diagnosis.
Commenters expressed affection for Simon and thanked the people who brought him to safety.
"Simon is absolutely beautiful! You can tell by his expression he's a super smart kitty," one wrote.
Others wished him a loving home.
"Thank you so much for your kindness; may Simon have many beautiful years ahead of him," another person added.
What's being done?
At Khvostyky, his rescuers say Simon has received vaccinations and is up to date on parasite treatments.
"The part we're happiest about is very simple: He no longer has to defend his sleeping spot," the original poster wrote.
"We'd love his next years to involve a comfortable bed, a quiet home, and someone who looks at those battered ears and sees their lovely boy," the original poster wrote.
