At a home in Telangana's Yadagirigutta, a 9-foot python alarmed nearby residents and drew neighbors out to see what was happening.
According to The Siasat Daily, residents discovered it on Tuesday, October 6, at Rachakonda Chinna Raju's home, turning a routine residential area into a wildlife rescue scene.
Here's what to know
The Siasat Daily reported that people noticed the large snake at Chinna Raju's home in India, near the road linking Yadagiripalli and Mailar Gudem, and alerted the Forest Department.
Because the snake turned up at a residence rather than an isolated spot, neighbors gathered outside the home, reacting with a mix of concern and curiosity. When homes, roads, and wildlife movement areas overlap, people and animals are more likely to cross paths.
The python was seen near the Yadagiripalli-Mailar Gudem route in Yadagirigutta, meaning the encounter happened in an inhabited area. In places like that, crowds can form quickly, and fear-driven reactions can put the animal at risk of injury or death.
After spotting the python on the property, local residents immediately contacted officials. Snake catchers then arrived and safely contained the reptile.
The reptile was subsequently taken by the Forest Department for what the report called "necessary action," ending its presence in the residential area.
