Only a few weeks after arriving at her new home, a kitten named Suki found herself in trouble with an entertainment center.
She had squeezed partially into an opening in the cabinet and then became stuck, unable to back out.
Firefighters safely freed her, and video of the rescue later spread online, drawing millions of views far beyond Ventura County.
Here's what to know
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, firefighters with Engine 50 in Camarillo responded to a call about an animal in distress and found Suki wedged inside the entertainment center, the department told KTLA.
In footage shared by BunniandSuki (@bunniandsuki) on TikTok, Suki's head is visible through an opening at the top of the cabinet while firefighters work to free her. They removed A/V equipment from the cabinet and shifted the entertainment center to create better access before carefully freeing the kitten.
@bunniandsuki I have no idea how she got in there I just heard panicked meows and found her in the tv console ???? Big panic attack for me!! Poor baby but she is safe now and they did a great job getting her out without harming her (it was a super close call I still don't understand how she got like that) To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please contact licensing@storyful.com 😼 #catsoftiktok #cattok #kittentok #kittensoftiktok #kitten ♬ original sound - mikenezz
She was not injured and was returned to her family.
