Over the same span, the gas option reached €116,993 ($135,863) once higher gas prices were factored in, resulting in potential savings of €12,451 ($14,459).

Jannik Schall, head of product and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°, said, "Homeowners should not be blinded by the pure acquisition costs."
