Sportsman's Guide has agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit with a $1.015 million settlement over the improper sharing of customer information, Top Class Actions reported.
Specifically, the complaint accused the retailer of disclosing purchase data without customer consent and said that this action allegedly breached Pennsylvania's Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act and Uniform Firearms Act, according to Top Class Actions.
People may be included in this settlement if they live in Pennsylvania and bought a firearm or reserved one online through Sportsman's Guide between Jan. 11, 2021, and July 7, 2026, according to Top Class Actions. The estimated average settlement is around $145, although this figure may be higher or lower depending on how many people file a claim.
Despite the million-dollar settlement, Sportsman's Guide has not admitted any wrongdoing, although it will make cash payments to any eligible class members.
