Nancy, a 73-year-old homeowner, bought her house to honor her mother's memory. Instead, she said the home became the center of a financial and emotional crisis after contractors left her with a failing roof and little money to fix it.

Here's what to know

Content creator Cole Simpson (@sodacitysimpson) shared Nancy's story on YouTube. She said contractors took advantage of her, drained much of her money, and left her roof in such poor condition that her insurance company dropped her. That put the 73-year-old at risk of losing the house she had purchased in her mother's memory.

What's being done?

In response, Simpson's team organized a no-cost replacement of the whole roof and went to Nancy's home to complete it.

Simpson explained, "When we heard her story, we knew we had to do something." That meant replacing the roof that had put Nancy's housing situation in jeopardy.

Rather than offering a temporary fix, the team focused on the roof itself — the problem Nancy said had contributed to the loss of her insurance and to her fears of losing the home.

Simpson said, "We showed up with a plan to give Nancy a brand-new roof, completely free of charge."
