A 63-year-old man died in Stephens County after his vehicle struck about 10 wild hogs on Sandhill Road, exited the roadway, hit a fence, and rolled over several times into a field, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Here's what to know
According to KSWO, the driver was Roger Gregory Cummings, who was traveling west in Marlow after 11:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
Troopers said they had not determined the precise time of the collision.
After striking approximately 10 wild hogs, the vehicle went off the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a fence, and came to a stop in a field on private property, KSWO reported.
Investigators said evidence indicated Cummings steered in an attempt to avoid the animals. The vehicle continued along the fence before overturning several times.
Cummings was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, and troopers said Cummings was dead when they arrived, per KSWO.
The crash remained under further investigation, and the OHP said its findings were preliminary.
