Nature's Own Hawaiian Bread distributed in five states is being recalled because some packages do not disclose the presence of milk. For people with a milk allergy or sensitivity, that missing label information could make the bread unsafe to eat.

Here's what to know

According to Fox 5 DC, the affected products are 20-ounce single loaves and 40-ounce two-packs with "Best If Used By" dates from Oct. 8, 2026, through Oct. 18, 2026. A U.S. Food and Drug Administration notice says the bread was sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The recall involves milk that was not declared on the label, a problem Flowers Foods said it found while reviewing production records.

Flowers Foods said no illnesses related to the recall had been reported.

What can be done?

Flowers Foods said in the FDA notice that consumers who bought the affected bread should discard it or take it back to the retailer for a refund.

For identification, the two-packs carry UPC# 0 72250 00683 5 and do not list a product code. The recalled 20-ounce single loaves carry UPC# 0 72250 91662 2.

Flowers Foods listed these product-code ranges for the single loaves: 0188 262 20:06 - 0188 262 22:05; 0188 265 09:20 - 0188 265 10:30; 0188 267 04:50 - 0188 267 06:00; 0188 270 04:15 - 0188 270 06:05; and 0188 272 17:15 - 0188 272 19:25.
