In Haidarpur village in India's Yamunanagar district, a wildlife rescue took a bizarre turn when a roughly 16-foot python regurgitated an adult dog. The snake had been found in a village sugarcane field, an alarming discovery even before the rescue operation began.
The scene drew a crowd of villagers, turning a tense wildlife call into a public spectacle with real stakes for residents, pets, farm workers, and the snake itself.

The Tribune said farm workers noticed the python in the cane field, and news of the sighting brought many villagers to the rescue site.
Lilu Ram, an inspector with the Wildlife Department in Yamunanagar, said the department sent a team to the village after receiving information about the snake. He said the rescue was organized to ensure the python did not threaten residents, and during the effort, it regurgitated the dog it had swallowed.
Ram said, "The python had swallowed an adult dog weighing about 25 kg."
Officials later released the python in a wooded area away from the village.
