Two dog supplements sold nationwide through Amazon and Chewy are part of a recall tied to possible Salmonella contamination.
Anyone who purchased the products may want to examine the containers before using them again.

According to the FDA's recall announcement, the recall involves 6.35-ounce (180-gram) containers of Vet Plus, Inc.'s Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs.
The products were sold on Chewy.com and Amazon.
To identify the affected items, look for lot numbers 26118 and 26159 as well as UPC numbers 850064800111 and 850055111684.
In dogs, possible signs of Salmonella include vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. The FDA says infected animals may also become lethargic, eat less, or have abdominal pain.

Regulators warned that the potential contamination concerns people as well as pets.
Even dogs that seem healthy can still carry Salmonella and spread it to humans or other animals, per the FDA. As the agency put it in its recall notice, "There is a potential risk to humans from handling contaminated products or from animal waste after the animals have ingested the product."
The agency says the recalled supplements should no longer be used and should be thrown away with the lid tightly sealed.
If a dog consumes either supplement and begins showing those symptoms, owners should seek veterinary care immediately.
